AIR® Gratitude Jars

For 1st through 5th Grades

The Gratitude Jar is a mental health program geared towards students in 1st through 5th grade. This program works best with smaller classroom groups.
We will discuss what it means to be grateful and the positive impact gratitude makes on our brain health. Students will be encouraged to identify what in their lives they are grateful for and then each student will make their own Gratitude Jars. They will decorate labels to place on their jars. They will be encouraged to add to the jars on their own. We will discuss how when they are feeling sad, or having a bad day, to open up their Gratitude Jars and remind themselves of all of the good things in their lives.

At least one certified AIR Therapy Dog will accompany the presenter. Each therapy dog handler is Youth Mental Health First Aid certified. Students can also receive AIR Dog Trading cards with hotline information.
