AIR Volunteer Secures $1,000 Grant from Penn Medicine

February 1, 2019News, Press ReleaseBy Tricia Baker

AIR sends many thanks to volunteer Marlene Sisti for securing a $1,000 grant for Coming Up for Air™ presentations from Penn Medicine CAREs.

Marlene is a medical technologist at Princeton University Hospital Plainsboro, which was recently acquired by Penn Medicine. She started volunteering for AIR after she and her dog Harley completed a therapy dog training class that AIR Co-Founder Tricia Baker teaches.

“When I started taking Harley for therapy work, I heard Tricia speak about AIR and it became something I wanted to be part of,” Marlene said.

In fact, a description of therapy dogs’ involvement with AIR and a photo of her and Harley strengthened her grant application.

Penn Medicine allows for additional grant applications after one year, which Marlene plans to go for – a strong testament to her dedication to AIR and its mission.
