Joe and Mary Abode with Fiona

Mary and Joe Abode were certified with their Pomeranian, Fiona, in November 2019. In addition to being an AIR Dogs Paws for Minds: Therapy Dog AKC, she is an AKC Canine Good Citizen and has an AKC Tricks Novice title.

When she is not working as a therapy dog, she enjoys playing fetch and visiting any park.

Fiona is a small dog making a big difference. On her first visit with AIR, a girl came out of a session and was visibly upset.

 “She came up and asked if she could pet Fiona,” remembered Mary. “She pet Fiona and talked about how much she loved dogs. Her tears did flow, but then as she talked and pet Fiona she was able to calm and actually put a smile on her face. I am truly touched by this experience.”
